Entry 3                                     Bias

Item 1


 Racial discrimination:

Before 1962

In America, the life of the African American and the American has discrimination in some aspects. In some public places such as restaurants or movie theaters, the African American was prohibited entering as well as dog. In public transportation, they were required to seat at the back and they only sat when the American had all seats.

The children have right to attend the schools that the American government permits, they also have no chance to take the entrance examination in famous universities.

At that time, the American was sure that the African American was born to be nobles and they are not given human rights.

In India, when a child is born, the child is decided to who the child becomes in the future. This decision depends on the child’s sex. If the child is a boy, his parents desire he to be an engineer and a girl must be a doctor. It may be an overstatement on film, but from the point of view in real life, it is believed that women should work as teachers, doctor, assistants, secretaries …, and the rest of world is born to be directors, managers or engineers…The explanation for this thought is the belief that man are known as the strong, they are more intelligent and have enough abilities to do great things in social, but women are only do the housework because of their health and limited ability.

Item 3 a picture

The scapegoat in hierarchical company especially in Eastern countries

Boss is always right, he is the leader that means he has more empowerment, abilities in some extends, so he gets the respectability from his employees. Managers may feel quite distant to and their followers accept decisions but not participating in them. The fact is a consequence of employee’s desire in their ladder career.  Accepting and following is the way not against their boss, and then they have chance to promote. Therefore, whenever has a fault, the employees are criticized because of mistake in doing something.

  1. I can see that this is a well-prepared entry. However, I don't think the picture of the 2 babies is about racism due to the fact that there is no difference between how the 2 babies are treated. It also means that there is no relation between the analysis under the picture and the picture, is it?

    However, I want to commnet on your items.
    Firstly, As buoi Punny said, I think that the first item is not about discrimination and there is no link between the piture and analysis.
    Secondly, It is better if you number the type of bias and analysis of each item.
