Item 1: Poem

A special world.
Author: Sheelagh Lennon.
http://www.lovepoemsandquotes.com/LovePoem01.html.

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold.
Gently nestling us to the fold.
Like silken thread it holds us fast.
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

Rhetorical devices:
Imperfect rhyme: me-see, fast-last, break-wake, strong-belong…
Simile: Its fingers spread like fine spun gold,…
Metaphor: bond (love), thread (stream of life), fold (family).
Metonymy: fingers.
Message:
The poem praises love among people in the life. A special world means being full of love. Love helps people in the world to be closer and keep them strong. Love will never disappear when a person’s life ends, it will form a new one and make our world more wonderful and warmer in love.

Item 2: Cartoon.

                             Nước tăng lực hiếm hoi.
Message:
This cartoon reflects economic situation in Vietnam in end-of-year days. Gas, oil, tax...continually increase. Price dramatically soars. Employees who get mild salary bend beneath the burden with price. In spite of increasing pay, this measure has no effect.

Item 3: Song.
All good things.
Author: Nelly Furtado.

All Good Things (Come To An End)

Honestly what will become of me I don't like reality It's way too clear to me But really life is daily We are what we don't see We missed everything daydreaming

Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end

Flames to dust Lovers to friends Why do all good things come to an end, come to an end, come to... Why do all good things come to an end, come to an end, come to... Why do all good things come to an end, come to an end, come to...

Travelling I always stop at exits Wondering if I'll stay Young and restless Living this way I stress less I want to pull away when the dream dies The pain sets it and I don't cry I only feel gravity and I wonder why

And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day until the feeling went away And the clouds were dropping and the... The rain forgot how to bring salvation The dogs were whistling a new tune barking at the new moon Hoping it would come soon so that they could die.

Rhetorical devices:
Imperfect rhyme: me-reality, friend-end…
Repetition: come to an end, come to an end.
Rhetorical question: why do all good things come to an end.
Message:
This song shows an obvious rule in our life: all good things will come to an end. All things are born and disappear. Nothing lasts forever. So, we enjoy our life and never miss beautiful things in the life.
